for service providers
Join CACF and become a part of our movement for Asian Pacific American children and families.
We invite service providers to participate in an Advocacy Institute, tell your story or your client's story, and access our resource directory.
Participate in an Advocacy Institute
Advocacy Institutes are half-day workshops dedicated to training participants in advocacy. The training will increase participants' understanding of New York City politics and budgeting, model effective advocacy skills and strategies, and improve their impact in hearings, press conferences, campaigns, and meetings with decision makers. CACF is committed to working with policymakers and providers to ensure that the needs of the Asian Pacific American community are understood and addressed. We all have the responsibility to ensure that resources for the Asian Pacific American community are strongly supported in New York City. Advocacy is a perfectly legal activity for non-profit organizations, and it's fun! Youth and parents can also play a strong role in advocacy efforts.
Advocacy Institutes are held throughout the year. To attend an advocacy institute, please contact us at cacf@cacf.org for the next upcoming training session.
Tell your story or your client's story
The TALES (Telling Asian American Life Experiences and Stories) Storybanking Project was launched in 2006 to gather the untold stories of Asian Pacific American children, youth and families in New York City. These stories relate the struggles and triumphs of Asian Pacific American children, youth and families as they deal with raising families and navigating New York City's structures. The majority of Asian Pacific Americans have not reported the issues and problems they have faced regarding identity issues, discrimination, and racism.
If you have any stories on identity issues, discrimination, or racism, feel free to share story to storybank@cacf.org. All stories will be kept confidential. Asian Pacific American families must be heard! Your stories are important to public advocacy and educational efforts to improve existing community conditions.
