coalition building
CACF builds a coalition of Asian Pacific American led and serving organizations to better meet the needs of Asian Pacific American children.
In 2008, CACF has joined the steering committee of One New York: Fighting for Fairness, a broad-based coalition of over 200 community organizations, human service agencies, and labor unions and is a member of the Better Choice Budget Campaign. These coalitions are calling on our State and City governments to protect vital support and safety net services for the most vulnerable New Yorkers and to identify revenue options that are fair and equitable.
CACF, in collaboration with the Asian American Federation and YKASEC – Empowering the Korean American Community, is also leading the 12% and Growing Coalition, a group of over 25 Asian led and serving organizations in New York City. The 12% and Growing Coalition Statement of Principles and Budget Priorities call for the restoration of basic services for recently arrived immigrants, low-income, limited English proficient, children, and seniors as these are necessary for the economic sustainability of the State and City. Small community based organizations that serve emerging communities must also be supported. To sign on your organization, please fill out and return the sign on form.
In 2007, CACF launched the ACT (Asian Communities Together) Now! campaign. CACF leads a pan-Asian advocacy agenda with a coalition of advocacy organizations and community based organizations to improve policies, funding, and services for Asian Pacific American families. We are building strategic partnerships with policymakers to ensure that key decisions are expressly keeping Asian Pacific American children and families in mind.
