Dear Friends,

The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF) hopes you, your friends, and your loved ones are keeping safe and healthy during this time.

In New York City and across the United States, COVID-19 related anti-Asian American discrimination, particularly against East Asian-presenting individuals, has been on the rise. We are hearing how many not only live with the uncertainties of themselves and their families losing livelihoods and their health, but also fears of their family members being attacked.

COVID-19 does not discriminate based on race or ethnicity. We need to stand together and address this public health crisis and protect individuals from discrimination.

We thank the nearly 300 organizations, NYC Council Members, and individuals who signed onto the statement and pledge to continue to work in solidarity.

The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families along with the undersigned concerned individuals and organizations supporting the diverse communities across New York City and dedicated to the well-being of those marginalized, call on our elected officials, mainstream and ethnic media, and the general public to stand together against xenophobia and protect the health and well-being of all our children and families.

We call for solidarity in support of Asian Pacific Americans, primarily East Asian-presenting Americans, who have been subjected to rampant discrimination and hate surrounding the novel 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
