POC Health Justice Press Conference and Rally

Coalition for Asian American Children and Families is proud to be working with a number of organizations of color to address the alarming rate of deaths in Black and Brown communities due to the inequities laid glaringly bare by COVID-19, as a function of white supremacy in our healthcare system.  Our communities are dying and getting sick at a faster rate than our white counterparts, while racist systems, by their very nature, render multiple communities’ pain and struggle invisible.

Location: Across from Harlem Hospital, Corner of 135th and Malcolm X

The People of Color Covid Health Justice Campaign is led by Black, Afro-Descendent, Latinx, Asian Pacific American, and Indigenous communities that stand in solidarity to transform health.  POC Health Justice seeks to dismantle the racism, classism and sexism embedded in our healthcare system. Steering Committee Leaders include: Adhikaar, African Services Committee, Black Feminist Project, Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, Commission on the Public’s Health System, Laal NYC, Mekong NYC, Minkwon Center, Mothers on the Move, Mary Mitchell Center, Justice Committee (David Galarza), Alexa Aviles, and Isiah Hall.
